“Draconian rules”: the developer shared a fragment of an employment contract with Amazon

Amazon has introduced an open source AAA game engine based on Lumberyard
Amazon decided to significantly upgrade its Lumberyard technology and turned it into an open source engine. It is called Open 3D Engine and is suitable for creating cross-platform AAA games. The developers note that there will be dozens of different tools in the new modular engine.Lumberyard was originally based on the CryEngine engine, which Amazon licensed from Crytek in 2015.
Amazon Appstore will reduce the commission from 30% to 20% for developers with income less than a million dollars
Another company, following Apple and Google, reduces the commission for developers with a small income. Amazon has announced that from the fourth quarter of 2021, the commission in its Appstore will be reduced to 20%. Developers will also be able to receive 10% cashback.
Amazon has closed the Crucible shooter, which became the company’s first big-budget game
Amazon has announced the closure of the online shooter Crucible. It has been in development since 2014 and was supposed to help the company gain a foothold in the video game market, but in the end it could not get out of the closed beta..Crucible was originally released in May of this year.
