The SAG-AFTRA, the Screen Actors Guild of the USA, announced that it has reached collaboration terms with developers of 80 games. Guild members will now be able to participate in these projects by voicing characters and recording animations.

Last week, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) announced a strike against major gaming companies, including Electronic Arts (EA). EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson assured investors that at least in the near future, his company will not be significantly affected by the protests.

Britain’s actors’ union Equity stated that it is fully in solidarity with the American Guild of Actors SAG-AFTRA, which has started a strike against gaming companies. In the UK, there is also dissatisfaction with the terms of collaboration with developers.

The US Actors Guild SAG-AFTRA could not peacefully agree on working conditions with the video game companies it collaborates with. Now, it will defend its demands through a strike. The first protests will begin today, July 26.

On September 26-28, a scheduled negotiation session was held between the Actors Guild of the USA SAG-AFTRA and the game companies cooperating with it. It has not yet been possible to agree on a new contract.
