Britain's actors' union Equity stated that it is fully in solidarity with the American Guild of Actors SAG-AFTRA, which has started a strike against gaming companies. In the UK, there is also dissatisfaction with the terms of collaboration with developers.

Like the members of the American Guild, members of Equity are concerned about the lack of restrictions on the use of artificial intelligence in game development. They are also dissatisfied with the wages of actors in the UK. The union's statement notes that it is profitable for gaming companies to do business in the country—just in 2022, they received tax rebates totaling almost 200 million pounds. However, the wages of British actors involved in game development have not been increasing over the years and do not reflect the real value of their labor.

Despite everything, Equity will not be conducting its own strike. The fact is, this is prohibited by UK law. Moreover, unlike their American colleagues, Equity has not signed a collective agreement with major gaming companies.
