After three months of striking, the SAG-AFTRA, the American actors' guild, has decided to resume discussions with major game developers. The parties will meet at the negotiation table on October 23.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The guild will discuss terms of collaboration with representatives from the following companies:

  • Activision Productions Inc.;
  • Blindlight LLC;
  • Disney Character Voices Inc.;
  • Electronic Arts Productions Inc.;
  • Formosa Interactive LLC;
  • Insomniac Games Inc.;
  • Llama Productions LLC;
  • Take 2 Productions Inc.;
  • WB Games Inc.

Let's recall that the guild began the strike on July 26. The trigger was the refusal of companies to limit the use of artificial intelligence technologies in game development, which are capable of replicating actors' voices.

During the strike, guild members stopped recording motion capture for characters and voicing new games from the aforementioned companies. In addition, they began to hold regular protests. For instance, today, October 16, actors are set to picket Warner Bros. Games.
