The Spanish gaming market ranks ninth in the world in terms of revenue. By the end of the year, spending by local gamers will reach $2 billion, analysts from Newzoo estimate.

The population of Spain is 46.5 million people. According to Newzoo, more than half of the country’s residents, 24.6 million, can be attributed to gamers.

Mobile is the most popular gaming platform, 55% of men and 51% of women launch games on it. The PC is in second place in popularity, the console is in third, and in both cases the gender gap between the players exceeds 10% in favor of men.

62% of paying gamers have spent on in-game purchases over the past six months.

Game content is watched by 43% of Spanish Internet users. Half of them prefer to use their desktop for this.

The audience of esports in the country is not very impressive yet – only 7% of those who know about esports regularly watch it. The most popular discipline is League of Legends.
