Cygames studio, which developed the popular Rage of Bahamut game, is going to launch a series of animation projects based on its games.

Exactly five years ago, Apple opened an app store for the iPhone – the App Store. It was possible to buy the first mobile games for iOS. We decided to recall the most important of them today.

“Live events are an integral part of the entertainment service,” Chris Plummer, CEO of DeNA’s American division, said in an interview with Inside Mobile Apps.

Why the amount of content in mobile games is much more important than its quality, using the example of Rage of Bahamut, the editor of Inside Mobile Apps Kathleen De Vere (Kathleen De Vere) argues.  

The DeNA card role-playing battler shifted the Rage of Bahamut game, which had been at the top of the chart since April 2012, from the first position of the American top box office Google Play applications. 

The Japanese publisher acquired 20% of the company that created Rage of Bahamut, and spent almost $ 100 million on it. 

The number of downloads of DeNA’s box office hit – the card “butler” Rage of Bahamut – exceeded 3 million only outside the Japanese market, according to the game developers from Cygames. 

The Japanese company DeNA, the owner of the social gaming mobile platform Mobage, reported on the results of the quarter ended June 30. The company earned $609 million, which is 37% higher than in the same period a year ago and made a net profit of $131 million.

Looking at the success of Rage of Bahamut, DeNA decided not to reinvent the wheel, but, as they say, “take the bull by the horns” and release two more mobile card projects to the world market: Transformers Battle and Marvel: War of Heroes.

Collectible card games on mobile platforms have great potential. At least, this can be judged by the indicators of the main spring-summer blockbuster from the Japanese giant DeNA. 

The Japanese publisher of social games said it expects a significant increase in sales in the first quarter of 2012.

The box office leaders have not changed for a long time. Over the past week, only one top – ten cash register applications for iPhone – has a “new face” that has never been “lit up” before – the role-playing MMO Haypi Dragon from the authors of Haypi Kingdom.

Angry Birds Space and Draw Something are leaving both the American top ten most profitable games for iPhone and iPad; Minecraft: Pocket Edition turns out to be one of the most profitable apps of the week; The Sims FreePlay is gaining popularity again after the update; Rage of Bahamut has been leading the top grossing Android apps for a month.
