Testing of monetization in games has started on the HTML5 platform Instant Games. Facebook debugs advertising and microtransactions.

Advertising has so far appeared in only two projects: Everwing from Blackstorm and Basketball from FRVR.

According to the official Facebook blog, based on the results of the first tests, the social network will begin wider testing of two supported formats – fullscreen advertising and rewarded video.

Along with advertising, Facebook will add tools that will allow you to track and optimize ads in HTML5 platform games.

It has also announced the start of testing in–game payments – IAP. So far, they are supported exclusively on Android. It is unclear how much Facebook will keep for itself.

“During the first IAP tests, we will adhere to the standard policy regarding the distribution of revenue share and commission on Google Play,” TechCrunch reports on Facebook.

Does this mean that the developer will have to share the revenue with Facebook or all 70% will go to the creators – it is unclear.

Instant Games remains a project that is in a closed beta for developers: so far, projects of a limited number of social network partners are presented on it.

The platform operates within the Messenger chat application, whose downloads as of April 2017 amounted to 1.2 billion.
