Sony‘s official blog has information about how much it plans to sell games from its internal studios for the new generation of PlayStation. Prices will range from $49 to $69 per title.
Demon’s Souls is one of the first games with a price tag of $70
The president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, did not specify how much the games of third-party publishers will be evaluated. At the same time, according to him, five new products will be available for Sony PlayStation 5 at the start:
- Astro’s Playroom (Japan Studio) – will be pre-installed on PS5;
- Demon’s Souls (Bluepoint Games / Japan Studio) – US$69,99;
- Destruction All Stars (Lucid Games / XDEV) – US$69,99;
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Insomniac Games) – US$49,99;
- Sackboy A Big Adventure (Sumo Digital / XDEV) – US$59,99.
From this list, we can make a preliminary conclusion that $70 will be put up at least for PS5 exclusives, which, for example, do not include Miles Morales and Sackboy A Big Adventure, also scheduled for release on PlayStation 4.
Earlier, Take-Two announced its plans to raise the price tags for games for a new generation of consoles (exactly $70 will cost its NBA 2K21) and Activision (the same amount will be its price tag for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in the version for new consoles).
