While most publishers have not yet decided whether to raise the price tag of games on the next-generation console or not, Activision has begun to act. The company announced Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and confirmed that the game will be sold for $70.
Activision made such a statement at the presentation of the game, where it revealed a few details.
The next part of Call of Duty starts on November 13, 2020, but pre-order is already available today. The game will be released on several platforms at once: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
The price of the standard version of the game for the new generation of consoles starts at $69.99. For older consoles – from $59.99. There are also digital, Cross-Gen and Ultimate editions. All versions have their own nuances, depending on which the cost of Call of Duty changes.
Recall that in July, the research firm IDG predicted a price increase of up to $70 for games for next-generation consoles. Later, the publisher of Take-Two agreed with her. The Japanese studio Capcom also shared similar thoughts.
The first game with a well-known price tag of $70 was NBA 2K21 from Take-Two.
