Steam expands the possibilities for remote playback of games and videos. From the second half of May, users of the Valve platform will be able to play titles and watch videos from their libraries on mobile devices through the Steam Link and Steam Video applications.
When using Steam Link, the game starts on a PC and is played on another device that supports data streaming.
Prior to the announcement of the mobile application, Steam Link existed in the form of a set-top box that connected to a TV and transmitted a stream of game video to it over the network.
To operate the mobile service, you will need a wireless Wi-Fi connection at a frequency of 5 GHz, or access to the wired Internet.
For a full-fledged game of PC titles on mobile, the official Steam controller and other MFI controllers can be connected to the device.
Mobile Steam Link will first launch in beta format for Android within the next two weeks. A full release for both mobile platforms is scheduled after May 21.
The Steam Video Video application for streaming videos to smart devices from Steam will launch this summer.
