Almost all games downloaded from Google Play are found by users in the store itself by searching and viewing the catalog. Mainly advertising traffic accounts for only 12%, according to the analytical company Sensor Tower.
In terms of organic game downloads, Google Play is slightly ahead of the App Store, where searching and viewing store content provides 80% of game downloads.
According to Sensor Tower, only 10% of downloads of games from Google Play occur via links from external resources: other sites or ads inside applications. Another 2% of downloads are brought by Google AdWords ads.

For comparison, for non-gaming applications, Google Play surfing gives only 69% of downloads, and downloads from links from third-party sources bring 23%.
The share of AdWords is also higher here and reaches 13%.
Sensor Tower also compared the share of organic traffic in downloads of free-play and premium games on Google Play. Premium titles have an organic index of 79% of all downloads, while shareware titles have only 42% of organic downloads.
Speaking of game genres, most often through search and surfing on Google Play, arcade games and simulators are found and downloaded. Casino games are most rarely loaded in this way.
