35% of developers of virtual and augmented reality applications have chosen the HTC Vive VR headset as a platform for developing exclusive applications.

This is evidenced by the survey data conducted in preparation for the second annual Virtual Reality Developers Conference, which will be held in September this year in San Francisco.

According to the survey, HTC Vive became the most attractive VR system in the eyes of developers. 35% of respondents are ready to make exclusive software for it.

The second place in the preference rating was shared by Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR, gaining 13% of votes each.

9% of developers chose their own version of the platform, and only 7% reported a desire to make applications for SonyPlaystation VR.

Which virtual, augmented or mixed reality platform will your next game be exclusively released on?In addition, the number of people willing to develop platform exclusives has increased from 20% to 31% over the past year.

The authors of the study believe that interest in VR/AR exclusives is growing due to the fact that developers see an opportunity to achieve maximum success on one of the available platforms, or want to use it as a springboard for further distribution to other virtual and augmented reality devices.
