HTC Vive will have its own store – Viveport. First of all, entertainment content will be distributed in it.
(Update) On September 30, HTC officially announced the launch of Viveport in 30 countries. In China, the store was launched back in April. So far there are only two apps in the store, but there is a big feature with hyperlinks to Steam.
(Original) Following Oculus, Valve and Samsung, HTC is opening its own digital distribution channel. In addition to the game and video sections, there will be categories dedicated to social networks, news, travel and even shopping.
Viveport will also have a social component – Viveport Community, within which users will be able to communicate and interact with each other.
The opening of the store was reported by VentureBeat. The editors of App2Top could not get access to Viveport, and the official press channels of Vive are silent about its launch. For this reason, we are not reporting the discovery as a fait accompli yet. It is quite possible that this situation will change very soon.
Since August, access to the closed beta of Viveport can be obtained by registering as a developer here.
