Downloads of VR games and apps from the App Store and Google Play in 2016 reached 226 million, which is 276% more than in 2015.

This is evidenced by the research data of the Sensor Tower analytical platform.

It is also reported that in the first quarter of 2017, downloads of mobile VR programs on both platforms exceeded 85 million worldwide, which is 205% more than in the same period last year.

In total, from the beginning of 2015 to the end of March 2017, 371 million mobile VR applications for iOS (106 million downloads) and Android (265 million downloads) were downloaded worldwide.

56% of all VR programs downloaded in the world are games. The remaining 44% consist of entertainment applications (17%), photo and video software (10%), service applications (4%) and travel applications (3%).
