The QIWI payment service shared its forecast about the Russian video game market. The company’s specialists believe that by 2021, the total sales of video games in the country could reach $ 2 billion.

A little earlier, the company also publicly announced that in January 2019 alone, “the volume of online purchases in the gaming segment” in Russia increased by 15%.
The forecast of $2 billion can be called realistic and even cautious. For comparison, mobile games alone earned $517 million in Russia in 2018.
Recall that last summer, the analytical company Newzoo predicted that the total volume of the Russian market for 2018 would be $ 1.7 billion.
At the same time, PricewaterhouseCoopers’ assessment is much more optimistic. The consulting company said last August that the Russian gaming market will reach $4.8 billion by 2022.
