According to The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft Corporation plans to sell from 3 to 5 million Surface tablets in the fourth quarter of this year.
These data were reported to the newspaper by sources close to the company, based on pre-orders to Asian suppliers.
For comparison, Google’s Nexus 7, already named by Carphone Warehouse as the best-selling tablet in the history of the retail chain, by the end of the year expects a combined sales level of 8 million devices for two quarters.
The Wall Street Journal also reports that an ARM-based Surface with 32 GB will cost $499. Apple is asking the same for the 16 GB version of the iPad Mini.
By the way, since we are talking about Apple, the “apple” company, according to rumors, plans to reach the sales level of the iPad Mini a little more than 10 million devices for the fourth reporting quarter.
