The startup PlayHaven, which is engaged in the monetization of games, caught Charles Yim in its networks, who worked on the development of AdMob and was responsible for three years at Google for partnering with mobile application developers.

To begin with, a few words about PlayHaven. The company’s entire business is built around one simple trick. The company creates an HTML5 page that appears inside the game. Developers can use this page to create certain offers to the user. For example, at a particularly difficult moment, a banner appears with a discount on one or another IAP, which can help pass the game further.

PlayHaven has built a large network to support this, in fact, advertising service, the key difference between which and competitors is that its offers are usually relevant to what the user is doing at a particular moment. Already, it covers about 4 thousand applications and 100 million users.

It is clear that this is far from the limit, given the order of 1 billion smartphone users. And PlayHaven currently needs new partners whose games will help increase the user base. Charles Yim, who has a huge number of connections with developers and publishers after many years of work at AdMob and Google, is an excellent acquisition in this context. In an advertising company, he will become chief operating officer.

You will be able to meet Charles Yim in person very soon in St. Petersburg at the Winter Nights: Mobile Games Conference.
