The Austrian concern Koch Media acted as the buyer of the authors of the Galaxy on Fire series.
All the IP studios of Fishlabs, as well as the Abyss game engine, became his property. How much the Austrians gave for the studio, consisting of 52 people, is not reported.
Despite the fact that Fishlabs is now part of Koch Media, it will remain in its Hamburg office. So the biggest change is the departure of former managers (Michael Schade and Christian Laure) from the team.
For Koch Media, buying Fishlabs is the first step towards the mobile market. Previously, under the Deep Silver brand, the company acted only as a publisher of PC and console titles.
The Austrian concern owns the rights to the Saints Row, Metro, Sacred and Dead Island series, among others.
