The author of the multiplayer slasher For Honor Jason Vandenberg (Jason VandenBerghe) announced the beginning of work in the studio-developer of role-playing MMO ArenaNet as a design director.
He wrote about it on his Facebook page.
“Guess who became the new design director at ArenaNet? This guy! This is a big step. I will no longer make games myself, but I will lead the team and help my colleagues grow professionally. I’m… thrilled with how difficult it sounds. This is exactly what I want to do now,” he shared with his followers on July 7.
Jason Vandenberg explained that his work at ArenaNet turned out to be a “long and confusing story” and a surprise for himself, since he had not originally planned to work there. However, the leading designer of the role-playing MMO game Guild Wars 2, Isaiah Cartwright, managed to convince Jason.
Vandenberg thanked his former colleagues from Ubisoft Montreal and called his time at the studio “the best experience of his career.”
Jason Vandenberg has worked at Ubisoft since 2008 as a creative director. Under his leadership, such games as Red Steel 2 and For Honor were created, he also participated in the development of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and a number of other projects.
