David Helgason, co-founder of Unity Technologies, joined the board of directors of Lockwood Publishing, known for the Avakin Life social simulator for both iOS and Android.
“I have been watching Halli Bjornsson and his team from Lockwood for several years and was impressed by how they managed to develop a successful mobile business without investment and experience in this field,” Helgason said.
A few days ago, Lockwood Publishing announced the opening of an office in the British city of Leamington Spa. The new department will develop updates for the flagship title of the studio.
Avakin Life was released in December 2013. Over 4 years, the game has been downloaded more than 35 million times.
