The developers of the Unity engine have acquired a Multiplay Digital game hosting. They bought it for £19 million from a major British gaming retailer GAME.

Multiplay Digital provides servers for titles such as Titanfall 2, Day Z, Echo Arena and Killing Floor 2.

GAME bought Multiplay Digital as part of the company Multiplay in 2015 for £20 million. In addition to managing online games, Multiplay organizes esports tournaments and the annual Insomnia gaming festival.

Only Multiplay Digital game hosting has become the property of Unity. Multiplayer will continue to hold events as part of GAME.

GAME will use the proceeds to support the retail business and conduct gaming events.
