China is actively preparing a local version of the Valve store. A line of games for Steam China was announced today.

This was stated by Valve’s Chinese partner, Perfect World, a company engaged in promotion, marketing and selection of titles for the site.

The list of games for the future store includes 40 titles, including:

  • Dota 2 and Dota Underlords (Valve);
  • Subtautica (Unknown Worlds Entertainment);
  • Descenders (No More Robots);
  • Risk of Rain 2 (Hopoo Games);
  • Absolver (Devolver Gidital).

A number of Chinese and Japanese games are also expected, according to Game World Observer. Most likely, only projects approved by the Chinese authorities will be allowed into the store.

The upcoming launch of Steam China became known more than a year ago. The new store will not be associated with the global version of Steam and is intended exclusively for China.

Steam itself is available in China, but not officially approved by the regulator. There are about 30 million Chinese players in it. Many of them are afraid that after the launch of Steam China, the global store in the country will still be blocked.

There is no launch date for Steam China yet.
