Ubisoft is not afraid of the anger of gamers. The company gave the go-ahead to add loot boxes to Ghost Recon: Wildlands. They will appear in the shooter until the end of January.

The high-profile story with Star Wars Battlefront II did not stop the French. They will add functionality with the receipt of random items to their multiplayer blockbuster.

Two types of containers will appear in the game:

  • Spec Ops Crates for Single and Co-op;
  • Ghost War Crates for PvP multiplayer.

The first type of boxes will contain rare guns, vehicles and cosmetics. They can only be used, respectively, in a single game and in a cooperative passage.

Only cosmetics will fly out of the second type of boxes. But it will be possible to brag about it, humiliating rivals in a game over the network.

The practice of cosmetic boxes, despite the scandal surrounding Electronic Arts, is widespread today. For example, there are boxes in Heroes of the Storm. That’s just in the Blizzard game, not only cosmetics can be knocked out of containers, but also game characters.
