Although digital sales of video games are growing every year, American gamers continue to actively buy physical copies of titles. According to a report by the analytical company Nielsen, 66% of console owners in the United States prefer a game on disk to its digital version.

At the same time, 71% of PC gamers surveyed are more willing to choose digital copies of titles. However, both in general spend more money on the purchase of games in retail than on digital purchases. Moreover, the players’ spending on titles for the PC platform is twice as high as spending on digital downloads of games.

Downloadable content is in second place with 18%, and purchases on the secondary video game market are in third place, where 16% of the gaming budget goes.
