The Chinese publisher NetEase and the American toy manufacturer Mattel have created a video game development studio called Mattel163.

Each of the parties owns half of the shares of the new company.

In the joint gaming business, Mattel will provide franchises, and NetEase will use its capabilities to develop and publish titles.

The studio’s first project will be a mobile version of the Uno board card game, which will be released on iOS and Android this year.

Mattel already has experience of cooperation with Chinese business. Last year, the company signed a deal with Alibaba Group Corporation and online content developer BabyTree to implement educational games in China.
