Ubisoft and Tencent have become strategic partners. As part of the cooperation, Tencent will release a number of mobile titles of the Ubisoft subsidiary of Ketchapp Games publishing house in the Weixin version of the WeChat social network for the domestic market.
Ketchapp games will appear in the Weixin Mini-Game section, which allows you to launch simple game applications without pre-installation directly in the mobile client.
In China, about 980 million people use Weixin services every month, which makes Weixin the most popular mobile application in the country.
Ubisoft has already established itself in the Chinese mobile games market. Currently, 16% of the audience of its mobile games is located here.
Some Ubisoft titles have gained great popularity in China — for example, the Hungry Shark mobile arcade has gathered more than 120 million users in the country.
The company also released a mobile role-playing action game Assassin’s Creed: Blood Sail, which was not published outside of China.
