Mobile role-playing games on iOS turned out to be the champions in terms of the number of push notifications sent to the gamer.

Such data is provided by the Iterable marketing platform in the User Engagement Top 100 study on ways to retain users in mobile games.

Role—playing titles were in the first place – they accounted for 61% of all push notifications. Sports games and arcades scored 29%, puzzles made up 6% and simulators made up 4%.

During the study, Iterable analyzed the rating of 100 popular freeplay games for iOS and found that 81% of the titles from this list sent at least one push notification.

Within two weeks, analysts received 1,817 notifications from games: on average, 18
messages from one game.
