Google is increasing the number of developers for Stadia. The Internet giant has opened a new studio and appointed her head of the ex-head of the God of War team.

This was announced by Stadia Games and Entertainment, headed by Google Vice President Jade Raymond. The name of the new studio is not mentioned, but a couple of details about it are still known.

  • As Gamesindustry writes.biz, the developer will deal with games only for Stadia. All of them will be based on new IP and equipped with innovative mechanics.
  • The studio is managed by Shannon Studstill. Her LinkedIn track record includes the position of PlayStation vice president of product development.
  • For the sake of the new studio, Studstill left the post of head of Sony Santa Monica, known primarily for PS-exclusives of God of War. Also note that Studstill worked as an executive producer at Electronic Arts in 2008-2009.

Also after the announcement, it became known that the previous post of Studstill will be occupied by Yumi Yang. He is a PlayStation veteran with 19 years of experience and a former director of product development at Sony Santa Monica, writes IGN.

It is obvious that Google is eager to fill the Stadia library with exclusives as soon as possible. The same task is set for Typhoon Studios, bought by Google in December. So the ecosystem of developers for Stadia already includes three teams, including a studio from Montreal (Jade Raymond mentioned it earlier).

Let’s add that the cloud platform itself is not doing well so far. In three months after the launch, only 6 new games were added to it. Why developers and publishers didn’t rush to the platform — read in the material App2Top.ru .
