The search giant has announced the launch of an open physics library for two-dimensional projects (2D physics library), a plugin for Unity and new game categories on Google Play.

The physics library is called LiquidFun. It is designed for C++ projects. It is assumed that with its help, it will be easier for developers to make realistic fluid physics in the game (are we waiting for a new version of Swampy?). LiquidFun is based on Box2D.

The new plugin for Unity will allow developers developing a game using the popular engine to integrate Google Play game services into the project with a couple of clicks (registration, achievements, leaderboards, cloud saving on Android and even iOS).

Google also said that in February 2014, new categories will appear in the Play Store: Simulation, Role Playing and Educational.
