Money
The first part of Monument Valley earned $25 million in four years
Sometimes mobile premium games earn money. Monument Valley’s white crow puzzle has raised $25 million since its launch in 2014. Taking into account the earnings of the second part, the total revenue of the series reached $ 35 million.
This is reported by Sensor Tower. She also recalls that the British studio Ustwo spent $ 1.4 million on the development of the first part. Almost a quarter of Monument Valley’s earnings came from China, where its Android version was published by iDreamSky.
Now they are going to make a film based on the universe of the series. As we wrote last week, a director has already been selected for the film. It will be Patrick Osborne, winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Cartoon — Feast.

Trends
There will also be combat passes in Rocket League
After Fortnite and PUBG, seasonal combat passes came to Rocket League. Most likely, we can already say that they are a new trend in the monetization of competitive games.
It works like this: an update is being released with cosmetic content that can be temporarily obtained in the game. Such an update is usually called a season. The opportunity to earn new content is only available to those who have bought a combat pass for a specific season.
Rocket League has such a pass called a Rocket Pass. Its premium version opens access not only to cosmetics, but also to an experience booster.

Nintendo is preparing to release a new mobile game
The exact release date and details of Dragalia Lost have appeared. This is a new original IP for mobile devices, which is published by Nintnedo. The game is being developed by Cygames studio, which became famous for the Rage of Bahamut battler.
Judging by the video, Dragalia Lost looks more like a classic JRPG for portable consoles than a mobile game. This is because the player directly controls the main character in battles, can dodge special attacks from monsters, and traveling to locations resembles similar ones from Octopath Traveler. There is also a cooperative multiplayer for four players.
The release of the game, for which Nintendo acquired 5% of Cygames (another 25% in the hands of DeNA), will take place on iOS and Android on September 27.
