Most downloaded games

Two of the three top ten left the Mario Kart Tour, which started very loudly in September. The racing game from Nintendo and DeNA can now be found only in the iOS top. On this platform, more than 50% of downloads of the game are provided by the USA and Japan, the most loyal markets for Nintendo products.

Also in November, the audience’s interest in Call of Duty: Mobile faded a little. The game is still popular, but it is no longer in the first place in downloads, as it was in the October that started the game. The strongest positions of the game are in the States. Of the 16 million installations that the game collected from both platforms in November, a third were generated “under the star-spangled flag”.

While some lose, others gain. Sand Balls regained its leadership in the top downloads. The minimalistic game, published by the Belarusian SayGames, has been showing a high level of downloads since August and since the beginning of autumn has overtaken most competitors in this indicator, including in the hyper-casual niche.

One of such competitors in November was Ink Inc. – Tattoo Drawing, a new Lion Studios game. The project offers the player the role of a tattoo artist. The gameplay boils down to drawing tattoos (here simple patterns and curves) along the dotted line. Thanks to the initial launch of 20 million installations, the game achieved second place in the top of the most downloaded games last month (by cumulative downloads from both stores). If we take only the App Store chart, then the project has taken a leading position here.

In addition to Ink Inc. – Tattoo Drawing on iOS, such novelties as Bikes Hill (Voodoo), Stencil ArtSpray Masters (Lion Studios) and Pokey Ball (Voodoo) also shot in November. These are also hyper-casual novelties, but none of them has collected even 10 million installations.

A completely different story is Draw Car 3D. This is a new game from Voodoo, which, having scored 10.6 million on Google Play, entered the top 10 most downloaded Android games last month. It’s also about drawing. The player draws a car with a line, which then turns out to be on the track and competes with the cars-lines of other players.

Please note that hyper-casual games still account for most of the chart. Even traditional puzzles here are represented by only one game — Homescapes. The only genre that also feels confident in the top is royal battles. The best representatives of the genre, who are well represented in China and Southeast Asia, still manage to collect from ten million installations per month.

Highest – grossing games

The top most profitable games are traditionally more inert. New games rarely appear here. Many titles have been operated on for more than two or three years. One of the exceptions is the Japanese Dragon Quest Walk (the Japanese Dragon Quest Walk). The game started very loudly in September, earning $75 million in the first month. By the end of November, the game is still among the top ten most profitable games in the world, despite the fact that it is available for download and play only in Japan.

Recall that Dragon Quest Walk is a geolocation game in the spirit of Pokémon Go. Its key difference from the creation of Niantic is a more elaborate and complex gameplay. This applies to both battles, which began to resemble battles from classic JRPGs, and meta quests and furniture placement.

The main significant change in the November box office tops is the rise in revenue from Fate/Grand Order by $ 20 million. It occurred against the background of an increase in the number of events, as well as the release of a new campaign inside the game. At the end of the month, the Japanese collectible buttler within Google Play reached the first place in the world in terms of revenue.

Of the events, it is also worth mentioning the loss of Homescapes from the tops. By the end of November, he earned $ 7 million less than in October. But in the box office Android chart, its place passed to the older Playrix project – Gardenscapes, whose revenue in Google Play, on the contrary, increased. A possible reason is a successful winter update with the ability to hang holiday toys in locations, a new room, as well as a new story chapter.
