As it traditionally happens at the end of the month, App Annie analysts summed up the results of the mobile games market of the previous month. We have an analysis of the report in Russian.

Leading companies

King slipped to third place in total global downloads, losing out to Gameloft and EA at once. The only funny thing is that neither one nor the other has its own projects in the Top 10. Apparently, they scored on the portfolio of projects, so to speak, “on the tail”. The Chinese Doodle Mobile continues its ascent. She’s in fourth place. How she manages it – we can only guess, she has no hits. Taipei XPEC, known in the West primarily as a developer of console Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, also appeared in the top for the first time.

The third Chinese company to enter the chart was Tencent, which had a very successful month.

Firstly, the three-dimensional shooter We Fire, playing on the popularity of Cross Fire, came in second place in world downloads among iOS games, shifting Candy Crush Soda Saga to the third position.

Secondly, the card butler I am MT 2 hit the world top ten on iOS. This place provided the game with the first place in the Chinese box office App Store.

If we go back to the global box office charts of companies, then the situation is less dramatic, except for the appearance of BANDAI NAMCO and Netmarble in it. In both cases, the key role for companies is played by the local, namely the Japanese market.

Hits of December

If December brought a number of new projects to the game loading chart, but in January the main “troublemaker” turned out to be Crossy Road, who returned to the top. Of the interesting things, however, it is also worth highlighting the inclusion of two runners in the top ten at once: the classic Temple Run 2, which recently received Bruce Lee as a new hero, and the Looney Tunes Dash! from Zynga.

The main news in the box office gaming top is getting into the top ten of BoomBeach, which, attention, has overtaken Hay Day in monthly sales. App Annie analysts say that, first of all, Boom Beach should be grateful to American users for its high cash register.

Trivia Crack is still very successful. In January, the game remained in first place by downloads in the world on the App Store, and entered the top ten by downloads on Google Play. The DAU of the project reached 20 million, the project was already advertised on TV in Latin America, and moreover, the game had a merchandise.

The cash figures of the project are not so impressive, but getting to the 14th place in the American overall is, as it seems to us, an excellent result.
