Over the current year, more than 4,000 games have been published in the Steam digital game store. This is more than a third of the total number of projects on Steam.
The figure was published by Sergey Galenkin in the Twitter feed of his SteamSpy service. According to him, for the whole of 2015, 2964 games appeared on the Valve platform, and a year earlier – 1772. In total, SteamSpy has about 12 thousand projects on Steam.
Given the high growth rates, we can assume that 5-6 thousand new releases can be expected next year. This means that the issue of the findability of applications will become more and more relevant for Steam, and the sales of games individually will continue to fall.
