Loot boxes are the most unpopular business model for games. But she also has adherents. This is stated in the report of the annual Game Developer Conference. According to him, 1 out of 10 developers is ready to monetize their title by selling loot boxes.
Despite the controversial reputation, the loot boxes have defenders. “This is an acceptable way of monetization as long as it does not break the game balance. We need to learn how to work with this tool,” the opinion of one of the respondents is quoted in the study.
