In the eyes of consumers, the Summer Game Fest has become a sort of replacement for E3's now-defunct game announcements. To clearly demonstrate the marketing impact of this series of events, we've prepared a detailed report — complete with charts, tables, and a plethora of data about dozens of games of various scales and for different platforms.
It's important to note right away that the Summer Game Fest is not just Geoff Keighley's large-scale presentation at the legendary Dolby Theatre. According to official website data, from June 1 to June 9, over 15 events were held, officially or nominally united under the SGF banner.
Among them are separate, quite niche showcases. The focus of our report, however, is on four flagship events: the Summer Game Fest itself, PlayStation's State of Play, Xbox Games Showcase, and Nintendo Direct. We also collected data on games from a couple of lower-tier presentations: PC Gaming Show and Future Games Show.
In total, while preparing the material, we analyzed the results and metrics of nearly 170 titles — from platform exclusives and AAA releases by major publishers to indie games and projects by small studios.
In the article, we will examine:
- which trailers attracted the most audience attention — overall and at each showcase individually;
- the leaders in wishlists as a result of the Summer Game Fest;
- the top games from various showcases by new Steam subscribers: the main winners of the festival week;
- the most mentioned titles following the 2026 Summer Game Fest week.
