Japanese telecommunications giant SoftBank has received permission from its board of directors to acquire a controlling stake in GungHo Entertainment, which literally blew up the cash tops of mobile app stores with the Puzzle & Dragons game.

It took only 19 days for the Japanese mobile super hit Puzzle & Dragons to increase the number of its users by another 1 million and thus reach the milestone of 10 million.

Aggressive advertising on Japanese television helped GungHo’s game achieve record revenue figures, according to analyst Serkan Toto. 

The record-breaking performance of the game from GungHo demonstrated the extremely high potential of the mobile market, against which Supercell earnings seem to be far from the largest on iOS and Android.
