The release of the Direct Games mobile gaming platform from the VKontakte social network took place. The key feature of the platform is the ability to launch HTML5 games directly from the VK mobile application without a separate installation.
The platform is an add–on to the existing “Games” section in the social network application. The catalog has a separate showcase “Here and Now” (in the English version of Direct Games), where there are games that users can launch immediately without going to the app store.
Unlike the similar Facebook platform, VK’s platform supports IAP. Plus, any developer can offer their game to the social network by submitting an application for moderation through the application management.
We will strictly monitor the quality during moderation (of games), and also implement payment through in—app purchases - this is convenient for both developers and players.

So far, 7 titles are presented in Direct Games. One of them is “Slots: Treasures of the Worlds” from the St. Petersburg studio Nevosoft, known for the three–in-a-row “Planet of Gems” and as the organizer of the business conference for game developers White Nights.

The new platform is already available for some Android users of the VK application.
It is still “rolling out”. The social network promises to launch the iOS version a little later.

Recall that Facebook launched its HTML5 platform as part of a closed beta in November last year, its global release took place in May this year.
Previously, Telegram also allowed HTML5 games to run, but Apple demanded that the messenger remove their support.
