The online streaming platform Twitch intends to open its digital store with games and downloadable content for PC this week.
At the launch, 50 games will be available in the Twitch store, including For Honor, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead and Paladins.
Buying any title for more than $5, the user also receives Twitch Crate, which gives emojis and icons for chat, as well as Cheering virtual currency to reward their favorite streamers.
Streamers will also be able to earn money on Twitch if viewers buy the games they broadcast from their pages. Streamers will receive 5% from each purchase.
Recall that under the terms of cooperation with Twitch, developers will receive 70% of revenue from games sold, and the service will take the remaining 25%.
According to gaming industry experts, Twitch’s entry into digital distribution is a logical step in the development of this platform.
