From January to May 2017, over 2 thousand games were hosted on the Steam platform. This was announced by the gaming industry columnist Daniel Ahmad on Twitter.

The number of games released annually on Steam
As follows from the graph, the rate of release of games on the Valve site this year has already exceeded the annual result of 2014 (1772 titles) and is approaching the volume of 2015 (2024 released games).
2016 set a record for the number of game releases on Steam — 4027 games, which accounted for 38% of the total number of games ever hosted on this trading platform.
SteamSpy also provides monthly statistics of game releases in the Valve store.

According to these data, the rapid increase in the number of monthly releases of games on Steam began in March 2014 and reached peak values by October 2016 and March 2017, when more than 500-550 new titles were released on the platform per month.
