Android developers have been notified of the imminent changes to the Google Play rules. They relate to the advertising identifier and resemble Apple‘s IDFA policy.
The Google Play team stated in a letter to application developers that, according to the new rules, users will be able to reset their ID at any time or prohibit using it for advertising purposes to display targeted ads.
This can be done from the OS settings. We are not talking about the fact that the identifier should be turned off by default if the user has not given permission to use the data, as it has been happening on iOS since the release of version 14.5.

The innovation will affect all applications running on Android 12.
The specific date of entry into force of the new rules is not called. So far, we are talking about the second half of 2021. Also at the beginning of next year, these rules will apply to all applications for devices that support Google Play.
The decision on such a measure is explained by concern for the safety of both users and developers.
