VKontakte has introduced an important update for its Direct Games mobile gaming platform. From September 5, the games of the platform can send alerts to their users through the functionality of the mobile application of the social network.
Simply put, from now on, game notifications will come from the VKontakte mobile application. For example, about the release of an update or a new promotion in a particular product. It is assumed that this will help the platform’s projects in retaining and re-engaging players.
VKontakte, so that the initiative does not lead to spam, has set two restrictions. Both seriously limit the possibilities of mailing.
According to the first restriction, each user cannot receive more than three notifications per day. The pause between notifications should be at least an hour.
The second restriction concerns the audience to which notifications can be sent. Alerts can only come to those who have installed the game and launched it at least once in the last month.
From this it is clear that there is no possibility to notify about restored hearts around the clock. However, even in the existing form, notifications will make it so that players do not forget about the game.
