The Berlin administration approved a subsidy of $1.8 million (€1.58 million) for the German division of Ubisoft, which opened in the German capital in January 2018. The funding will help increase the studio’s staff from 50 to 150 jobs.
“Berlin has become a center of attraction for creative people and global companies. I am glad to welcome one of the most famous companies of the gaming industry in our city,” wrote Berlin Mayor and Senator for Economic Affairs Ramona Pop on Twitter.

Ubisoft Berlin is working on the Far Cry franchise.
Earlier this year, the head of the studio Istvan Tajne said in an interview with Games Industry that the new office is counting on the support of the German authorities for further development.
