Digital sales of Electronic Arts games for the year amounted to $3.17 billion. The driver of the financial results was the steady growth in the popularity of the Battlefield 1, Sims 4 and EA Sports series titles.

This is stated in EA’s financial report for the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

Compared to the previous year, digital sales of the publishing house increased by 23% and accounted for 63% of the company’s total revenue.

Over the past year, sales of games on all platforms generated $751 million. This is 50% more compared to the same period last year, when the company earned $502 million on the sale of digital copies of games.

In addition to the revenue from the sale of titles, EA receives income from subscriptions to the Origin Access game library and the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 17 and Madden NFL 17, which allows gamers to purchase digital copies of real athletes for their virtual teams.

Over the year, MAU Sims 4 has increased by 20%, the number of registered players in Battlefield 1 has grown to 21 million people, and the total audience of FIFA Mobile and NBA Mobile live mobile titles has reached 165 million unique users.
