The Sensor Tower analytical platform has studied the impact of different features in the App Store gaming section in iOS 11 on title downloads. It turned out that promotion through features increases the installation of the game up to 450%.
Sensor Tower investigated the effectiveness of promotion in the App Store from September 2017 to April of this year.
The company has identified 4 types of features — large banners (Hero Banners), videos and screenshots, as well as medium and small lists.
Sensor Tower measured the median number of installations for a week without a feature, and then for a week with a feature.

The best result in terms of the number of downloads was given by large banners.
Thanks to them, app installations increased from 8.5 thousand to 28.6 thousand (+236%) in a week.
And the average lists showed the best percentage increase in downloads — with this feature, app installations increased by 451%, from 300 to 1.7 thousand downloads per week.
The two remaining features also gave an increase in downloads. Small lists provided 355% growth, and adding screenshots and videos to the App Store raised installations by 285%.
“Promotion through features in the App Store is considered the pinnacle of success, especially for small studios and independent developers,” Sensor Tower noted.
