Amazon spoke about the results that its app store has managed to achieve over a year of operation.
In 12 months, the number of applications in the Amazon Appstore has increased almost eight times: from 4,000 to 31,000. As for the number of downloads, there is no official data. It is only known that they are measured in millions. At least this is what the management of Amazon insists on.
The most downloaded application at the end of the year was the game Cut the Rope (congratulations to ZeptoLab). The ad-free version of Angry Birds took an honorable second place, and Where’s My Water? from Disney only in third place. The most downloaded free application was expected to be the Angry Birds Free game, ahead of Netflix and Solitaire by MobilityWare.
In honor of the Amazon Appstore’s birthday, the company’s management also decided to arrange a week of sales, putting discounts on the most popular store apps. Including such hits as Fruit Ninja, Tetris, Pac-Man and Monopoly.
