Today, Google announced the imminent start of sales of gift cards for Google Play.
Gift cards will be issued in denominations of $10, $25 and $50 and are available only in some US stores. Users will not be able to purchase or activate a card outside the United States. While the company does not specify when they will become available in other countries.
With the gift card, users will have the opportunity to purchase applications, e-books, music, virtual currency or in-game purchases.
For some Google Play users, this innovation is the only opportunity to make a purchase in the store without a credit card. Note that similar gift cards exist in the main competitors of Google Play — Amazon and iTunes stores.
