The association of developers Because we may, which advocates that developers set prices for their games that they consider necessary, announced massive discounts in the last week of spring in honor of The App Store, Google Play, Steam and some other digital stores.
As stated on the official website of the informal association, the developers Because we may go against the interference of large online stores in their pricing policy. In their opinion, freedom from outside pressure “allows you to freely promote games … … and control over pricing is an important tool in this matter.”
To somehow declare themselves, as well as to pay tribute to those stores that allow developers to decide for themselves how much to sell games for (such stores include The App Store, Google Play, Steam, Desura, IndieVania) Because we may decided to arrange a loud action. In the last week of spring (from May 24 to June 1), the games of developers included in Because we may will be sold at great discounts. It is clear that the size of the discount, and in general – whether to participate in the promotion or not – the developers of each individual project decide for themselves.
A huge number of projects are already participating in the campaign (we tried to count the number of iOS participants and three times lost track of somewhere in the first hundred). Among the most high–profile projects are Osmos, World of Goo, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery and many, many others.
By the way, any sympathetic company can join the action.
