General market indicators
- The total turnover is $2.693 billion (remained at the level of last year).
- Sales of iron — $1.182 billion (increased by 3% from last year).
- Game sales — $1.008 billion (down 15% from last year).
- Accessory sales — $503 million (increased by 35% from last year).
Analysts explained the decrease in spending on video games by the fact that the release of the new part of Call of Duty this year took place a month earlier — on October 12. Previously, autumn releases for the Call of Duty series were scheduled for November.
Console Sales
The November Black Friday was the driver of console sales growth. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have each sold 1.3 million devices in the US. For the first time, three current-generation consoles sold more than 1 million units in a month. *
