According to Daniel Ahmad, an analyst at Niko Partners, more than 1.3 thousand new games have been released on Steam since the launch of the Steam Direct service.
Through Steam Direct, developers independently publish games on the Valve trading platform. To do this, they need to pay a $100 fee, submit the documents and allow Valve to test their product for stability.
The service was launched on June 14, 2017.
The number of new games on Steam this year has already exceeded the number of titles published and released throughout 2015.
According to Ahmad, by the end of 2017, the number of new releases on Steam will reach 5 thousand. This is more than was published on the site from 2006 to 2014.
At the same time, the analyst noted an increase in the number of games of dubious quality on Steam.
