The Valve Index headset is in great demand after the announcement of the new Half-Life. In the new chart of the best-selling Steam products, the VR helmet was on the second line.
Yesterday, November 24, Valve updated the weekly sales rating in its store. It looks like this:
1. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
2. Valve Index VR Kit
3. Football Manager 2020
4. Halo: The Master Chief Collection
5. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
6. Planet Zoo
7. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Deluxe Edition
8. Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds
9. Planet Zoo Deluxe Edition
10. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep
Among the games, a VR helmet made by Valve itself suddenly got mixed up. The increased demand for it can be explained by the announcement of the game Half-Life: Alyx. It was officially presented on November 21.
Half-Life: Alyx
Recall that Alyx will be released in March 2020 and only for VR devices working with a PC.
A new project of the popular series of games has been waiting for more than 12 years. It will be free for Valve Index owners.
Note that the helmet itself costs $999 — twice as expensive as HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The latter will also support Alyx, but their owners will have to buy the title for the full $60.
